Ottawa Language Access (OLA) social enterprise offers support to health care organizations and providers who are looking to provide linguistic support to their clients. Language can be the biggest barrier to accessing health care services. Language barriers can also lead to safety and compliance issues in a health care setting. We are committed to provide professional interpretation support to ensure that individuals can communicate with their health care providers in their language of choice.

OLA offers language interpretation support to registered individuals or health care organizations on request. To qualify, individuals or entities must:

• provides services to immigrants and refugees

• not currently have access to interpretation-services and/or have limited budget for interpretation service and/or be looking for alternate interpretation options

Preference will be given to:

• health care organizations or providers that offer specialized services in the priority areas of chronic-disease management 

• mental health and addictions 

• care of the elderly

• immigrant and refugee health
