Who can access anonymous HIV testing with Somerset West Community Health Centre?
Anonymous HIV testing is available by appointment for anyone aged 14+ who is at-risk of contracting, or believes they may have contracted, HIV.
What is anonymous HIV testing?
Anonymous HIV testing means that people accessing this service are not asked for their name. Personally identifying information is not requested, recorded, or reported. For example, instead of recording a client’s date of birth, a client’s birth year is asked instead.
The testing providers at Somerset West CHC offer point-of-care HIV testing, which means the test is done during the appointment and results are available within minutes of the test being performed. Pre and post-test counselling is offered during your appointment.
