Executive Director

Somerset West Community Health Centre (SWCHC)

Remuneration commensurate with experience and qualifications

SWCHC started from humble beginnings on Rochester Street 50 years ago and has grown to become a well-respected multiservice, multisite organization, nationally recognized for its capacity to innovate and respond to its community's needs and aspirations. The Centre plays a vital role serving the residents of West Central Ottawa and supporting regional programs for individuals made vulnerable and at-risk by systemic barriers. Its goal is to achieve optimal health and social well-being within the context of an anti-racism/anti-oppression framework.  The Centre works within a context of building relationships with neighborhood leaders, related health and community organizations, coalitions, and advocacy groups.

With a budget of approximately $22 million, over 300 staff members and 375 volunteers, SWCHC offers a wide variety of programs and services designed to meet the needs of its clients and community. We promote and assist change at the individual, community, and social levels through the provision of quality community health services, immigrants and refugees’ health, harm reduction for those most at need, community action and social advocacy.
